From 15 December 2026, landlords in England who let homes on assured or regulated tenancies must register themselves and each property on a new government service, Register Your Rental Property. Each region has its own deadline, there is a £65 fee for each property, and any change must be recorded within 28 days.

This kit gathers everything in one place before you start: the details and documents the register asks for, in the order it asks for them, a calendar of your regional deadlines, and a log that works out your 28-day dates. It is for England only. Scotland has its own separate landlord registration.

Formats: Excel workbook plus PDF and Word files. Works in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers and LibreOffice. No macros.

What it is not

  • It does not register you. You register yourself on the government service with a GOV.UK One Login, and you pay the fee there.
  • It covers England only. Scotland has its own separate landlord registration, and the kit does not cover Wales or Northern Ireland.
  • It is not legal advice and is not issued or endorsed by any government body. The regulations were still in draft when we checked, so confirm every date and fee on GOV.UK.
